GGPoker versus 888poker is useful as a cash-format comparison, not a prediction of hourly winnings. Start with the games available in your eligible local client. Then compare the fees of that format and the rewards you can actually redeem. Neither a brand score nor a welcome offer measures your advantage over opponents.
Match the format before measuring cost
The comparison below uses regular USD No-Limit Hold’em from both operators’ published schedules. GGPoker also publishes a separate Rush & Cash page; 888 lists its game categories on the limits and rake page. Keep the fast-fold products out of a regular-table tariff comparison.
Keep regular-table and fast-fold records separate. Changing how quickly you receive hands changes volume even if a per-hand fee stays the same. Record your own hands played and attributed gross rake for each format over a defined sample. Do not assign the whole table’s rake to your account.
A cost example with no operator rate claim
Suppose your records for a hypothetical format show 8 in attributed rake per 100 hands. At 75 hands per hour for 20 hours, you play 1,500 hands and generate 120 in gross rake. If 18 in usable rewards is received for that sample, the effective return is 15% and the net fee cost is 102.
Those inputs describe an example, not GGPoker or 888. Repeat the calculation with your own records for the second product. A lower net cost per 100 hands can still produce a higher monthly bill if you play more hands. Keep the units visible.
Programme names do not guarantee percentages
GGPoker’s public programme is Ocean Rewards, rather than the historical Fish Buffet scheme. For 888, identify the applicable local reward terms rather than importing a percentage from an old 888Miles, Club or VIP description. Separate cash, tickets, bonus releases and time-limited promotions in the comparison.
Check whether participation, qualifying fees or reward redemption differs by market. A previous reward balance does not establish the rate on your next session. Ask the operator about an unclear condition before treating a reward as part of your budget.
What this comparison can decide
Read the GGPoker review and 888poker review, then use the personal rake estimator with your own data. Choose a permitted format that fits your spending and time limits. This page does not claim that anonymous tables are standard at 888, that either pool is softer, or that rakeback creates a winning player. Regular USD NLHE rake and reward conditions
Compare the public USD regular No-Limit Hold’em schedules (page edition: October 2026): GGPoker’s six-max table and 888poker’s NLHE table. At $0.10/$0.25 with five players in the applicable count band, both list 5% rake. GG’s 5+ cap is $2; 888’s 3+ cap is $4. This row is not Rush & Cash, Snap or a locally ring-fenced tariff.

GG reaches its listed cap at a $40 pot; 888 reaches $4 at $80. GG is therefore lower on this base-rake calculation once the pot exceeds $40, while smaller pots can cost the same. 888 uses round-half-to-even collection. Match the schedule’s player count and collection rules; the calculation excludes separate feature charges, rewards, payment costs and personal rake attribution.
The linked international pages document regular USD NLHE at that stake for each product. GGPoker’s cited row is six-max; 888 uses two-player and three-or-more cap bands. These are tariff categories. Keep those published rules separate from a locally licensed client’s agreement and table menu. Running seats and session-time traffic are lobby observations, not figures supplied by a fee schedule.
The GG Ocean page, Page edition: October 2026, states 100 Tide Points per $1 of rake; restrictions and opt-in apply. It does not establish this account’s cash return. For both programmes, obtain the account-specific qualifying-fee base, award type, redemption conversion and expiry. A named programme is not a personal cashback quote. Pending points remain outside a received-cash comparison until their redeemable value is known.
Use the eligible registration agreement for the product you choose. For the tariff calculation above, both public pages list regular USD NLHE, while a live client check supplies the running tables at a particular time. Keep observed traffic separate from the published fee schedule.
