Welcome the the Best Poker Guide.net. If
you are an American, please take the time to read the editorial
and contact your congressmen. If we do not let them know how
we feel about our right to play poker, they may not act in our
best interest. |

Books
These pages list all of the books I have
reviewed for the "5th Street" magazine. I have
divided them into categories so that you can easily find the type
of poker books you need. Also take the time to read the
explanation for the reviews so you can better understand my
recommendations.
I always hesitate not to recommend a poker a
poker book because even the worst might have some explanation,
idea, or thought that will improve your poker skills. Even
at the prices we pay for books, usually only one such "golden
egg" will pay for the book in a single session.
Everything doesn't work for everybody, and some things work very
well for a few. |

Sites
Eventually I hope to list all online poker
sites, but that is rather impossible as sites close down and open
almost on a daily basis. If there is a review for a poker
site, I will have played poker at that site with both real and
"fun" money. So I can give a real assessment of it
from a poker player's point of view.
I also put some poker sites into categories.
The Beginner Poker Sites are those that for one reason are another
should provide good experience for the beginning poker player.
The Profit Poker Sites are those sites that I believe have the
best expected value for a competent poker player. Poker
sites have different environments and your specific style might
fit better at one than at another.
When you look at the
numerical scores, you should know that I consider good competition
to be a "bad" thing. As a result Poker Stars who
has some of the best players on the net, has the lowest numerical
score. |

Software
I also review poker software for "5th
Street." These are reviews of software that I have
evaluated for my articles. Few poker programs even try to do
everything, and of those that do very few do a good job at
everything. I have grouped these by their strongest
application.
Simulators are dominated by Wilson Software of
course, but just because they are biggest doesn't mean they are
the best for your needs. The Online Poker Aides or HUD's
(Heads Up Displays) also have some problems since they are can be
poker site specific. Few can be used with more than one or
two of the existing poker networks. I won't rate any
software that does not have an auto-read capability. Poker
Trackers are varied and one of the best is "Poker
Tracker." The hand/session data bases are excellent
ways to track your own and your opponents play. |

Resources
This is just good information that I have found
on Poker strategy, tactics, and just other poker related articles
that might help you improve your game or find a good game. I've
divided this into different groups also. Poker Resources are
collection of my own ideas or articles that I have developed while
doing research. The Online Poker Resources will evaluate and
link you to other sites that have great learning resources for
poker. The B&M (Brick & Mortar) pages will address
live poker. So if you want to know about Las Vegas Strip
poker. This is the place to check. |

Forums
Poker Forums are all over the Internet and they
come and go with seasons. I'll keep this as up to date as
possible and would appreciate it if you contact me with the URL of
any Poker Forum I haven't got listed. I'll try to keep the
most active at the top of the list with a short review of the
content. |
| Other
Links
This is for non-poker related links. It
may not be the best on the net, but I like 'em.
